What Is the Talogy Logiks General (Advanced) Test?
The Logiks General (Advanced) Test is a psychometric assessment created by Talogy (formerly PSI Talent Measurement). It is designed to measure cognitive ability at a higher level than the Intermediate version and is aimed at managers, graduates, and professionals applying for more complex roles.
The test assesses a candidate’s ability to understand, analyze, and solve problems using three different reasoning styles: verbal, numerical, and abstract. Unlike the Intermediate test, which is short and fast-paced, the Advanced version is longer, more detailed, and more challenging, requiring deeper focus and problem-solving skills.
Â
Test Structure
The Logiks General (Advanced) Test contains 30 questions per section (90 questions total) with a total test time of 25 minutes per section. It is split into three parts:
-
Verbal Reasoning (30 questions, 25 minutes)
-
Tests comprehension, vocabulary, and logical conclusions from text.
-
Questions may include synonyms, antonyms, analogies, and “true/false/cannot say” based on passages.
-
-
Numerical Reasoning (30 questions, 25 minutes)
-
Involves working with numbers, percentages, ratios, currency, and interpreting graphs or tables.
-
Questions are more complex than the Intermediate test and may involve multi-step calculations.
-
-
Abstract Reasoning (30 questions, 25 minutes)
-
Measures problem-solving ability with shape-based or pattern-based logic puzzles.
-
Requires identifying trends, rotations, and sequences with increasing difficulty.
-
The total duration can be around 75 minutes if all sections are taken. Some employers may use only one or two sections, depending on the role.
Â
Why Employers Use It
The Advanced test is used in recruitment and selection processes for higher-level roles because it provides a comprehensive measure of general intelligence. Employers use it to:
-
Identify candidates with strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
-
Assess how quickly applicants can learn new concepts and handle complex data.
-
Compare candidates on a fair, standardized scale.
It is especially common in industries such as consulting, finance, engineering, IT, and management.
